Bajaj has relaunched its vintage scooter as their 1st electric scooter! Bajaj has still retained its retro classic look in its electric scooter. Bajaj Chetak is introduced in two variants into the market. They are Urbane and Premium which is priced at Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh respectively.
These scooters have dual ride modes called the sports mode and the economy mode. The motors are powered with a 4kW Lithium-ion battery which gets charged in 5 hours and has a range of 100km in Economy mode and 85km in sports mode with a top speed of 78kmph.
The Scooter has a single-sided suspension at the front and single-sided spring suspension at the rear. It also has a disk brake at the front and a drum at the rear. Since Bajaj has maintained a classic look, that too is stunning.
#2 TVS Creon
TVS is bringing its electronic scooter, Creon to fight in this segment at market unlike Chetak, this one has a sporty look to it. The TVS Creon is expected to be launched by May 2020. The main features of this concept bike include three lithium-ion batteries and a 12kW motor. It is expected to have disk brakes at both front and rear.
Though the price point of this scooter is not clear, it’s estimated to be in the range of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000.
#3 Mahindra Gusto Electric
Mahindra is setting its foot in the race towards the future with its Gusto Electric Scooter. The Scooter is said to be launched by December 2020. The Mahindra Gusto Electric would be using the same body of Gusto 125 which is discontinued. It is said to have a lithium-ion battery powering a 3kW motor. With a maximum range of 80km per charge and a top speed of around 60kmph. The electric scooter is expected to be priced around Rs. 80,000.
#4 Ather Energy’s 450X
Ather Energy, a Bangalore based firm has unveiled its recent electric scooter Ather 450X. It is needless to say the success of Ather Electic in this market. Ather 450X, the successor of Ather 450 has an increased range, better battery, and power than its predecessor.
With a 2.9kW battery powers a 6kW electric motor which reaches a top speed of 80kmph.
This scooter also has two modes, the ride mode, and the economy mode the range is 75km and 85km respectively in a single charge.

The Vespa Elettrica is a premium electric scooter from Piaggio group. Vespa Elettrica is their 1st step into the future of electric vehicles. The features, looks, and ride modes are kind of similar to that of the Bajaj Chetak.

22 Kymco is the brand name! It is likely to set its foot on the EV industry with its Like EV model. The scooter is expected to hit the market during November 2020 with a price point or around 1 lakh rupees. The company claims that it will compete with Ather 450X. The scooter also has a retro look which is similar to the chetak and Vespa models.

1. Do I need a driving license to drive one of these vehicles?
